Auld for JetBrains IDEs

Connect the Auld MCP server to the AI features in IntelliJ IDEA, PyCharm, WebStorm and other JetBrains IDEs.

#Add the server

Open the IDE settings, find the Model Context Protocol section under the AI Assistant tools settings, and add a server using JSON configuration:

Menu locations change between IDE versions; search settings for “MCP” if you can’t find it.

#Ask before sending

Keep tool approval on so the IDE asks before remember sends anything. Each IDE installation has its own settings, so repeat the setup — and the consent — per IDE.

#Using it

  • Ask the assistant to recall conventions before generating code.
  • Ask it to remember architectural decisions after code review.
